Call for Submissions: Centre3

Centre3 for Print and Media Arts (formerly The Print Studio) invites submissions from Canadian artists using cutting-edge technology in their art practice, including tablets, interactive technology, hacking, and cell phones.

New Media takes the form of innovative artworks integrating technology or robotics, kinetic sculpture, installations, performances, immersive environments, web art, VJing, electronic art, and interactive works.

DEADLINE: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2012

Only electronic submissions will be accepted, whether e-mailed or submitted on CD or DVD. Text is to be in Word documents. Selected artist(s) will be presented in an exhibition in the Main Space in September 2013.

Application Requirements:

• A brief description of the specific proposal (thesis, relation to your art practice, etc.)
• A list of support material, which may refer to website pages, private/unlisted YouTube pages or DVD format, etc.*
• A list of equipment, software, etc., involved (equipment will be supplied by the artist, but Centre3 will facilitate as much as reasonably possible)
• A brief (40-word) biography of the artist
• The artist’s CV includes contact information (name, e-mail address, full mailing address and telephone contact).

*CD and DVD support material will be returned only if an appropriately-sized SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope) is provided. Otherwise, it will be destroyed after a decision is made.

CARFAC fees will be paid to the artist(s) selected to be exhibited.
