Equipment Rental Protocols

Since reopening, Near North Mobile Media Lab has worked hard to create and implement new protocols for the effective cleaning and sanitization of all our rental equipment. Following recommendations from health agencies as well as local mandates, N2M2L has implemented a sanitization system for our rental equipment based on the hard or soft material of the item. Below you will find a description of our new protocols for pick up and dropping off equipment as well as new sanitization protocols that we have implemented

Picking up and Dropping off Rentals:

Please call our office once you have arrived and we will have an employee come down to grant you access to the building. We ask that all visitors please wear a mask when entering our office to pick up or drop off rentals as well as once you are in the building, please follow proper social distancing guidelines, staying at least 2 meters apart (or 6 feet). Your rental will be prepared and sanitized for you in advance, we have set up a contactless pick up and drop off system that will allow you to collect and drop off your items with ease.

Soft Material Items:

Items with soft materials include foam mic covers and bags. If using microphones, please be sure to properly label them so they aren’t being used on multiple people. Once returned, soft material items will be left untouched for 24 hours, after this period we will proceed to launder the mic cover with soapy detergent and hot water in order to ensure a thoroughly cleansing. All items will then be additionally cleaned using a UV Light sanitizing wand before being made available for rent again.

Hard Material Items:

Items with hard materials cover a majority of our rental equipment including, cameras and tripods. Once returned, hard material items will be left untouched for 24 hours. After 24 hours we will proceed to disassemble the equipment as much as possible and use 70% isopropyl alcohol in order to thoroughly cleanse the item. After cleansing the items will then be dried using a non lint cloth, all items will then be additionally cleaned using a UV Light sanitizing wand before being made available for rent again.

Monday – 1:30pm – 4pm
Tuesday – by appointment only
Wednesday – 1:30pm – 4pm
Thursday – by appointment only
Friday – 1:30pm – 4pm
