Festival Coordinator for the 2024 North Bay Film Festival!
Location: North Bay, Ontario – Capitol Centre Theatre
Contract Term: Spring 2024 Start, leading up to the festival dates (November 17-19, 2024)
Contract: $5,000 CAD (based on 220 hrs @ $23/hour)

About NBFF:
The North Bay Film Festival is an annual event held every November in North Bay, Ontario, at the historic Capitol Centre Theatre. Over three exhilarating days, the festival showcases a mix of international, Canadian, and local films. It features engaging filmmaker Q&As, insightful panel discussions, welcoming receptions, interactive workshops, and industry-focused events. NBFF is a cornerstone event for audiences in and around North Bay, dedicated to exhibiting the finest in contemporary cinema. With a special emphasis on Canadian, Indigenous, and Northern Ontarian filmmakers, NBFF aims to present a variety of programming that offers stories from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. northbayfilmfestival.ca
The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Film Festival Coordinator to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the 2024 North Bay Film Festival. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for film, community engagement, and event management. The 220 hour contract starts in May and runs through the end of November. There will be some outreach work in the spring and summer with most of the work happening September through the end of November.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee festival planning and execution, including but not limited to marketing, sponsorships, and logistics.
- Coordinate with filmmakers, jurors, panelists, and workshop leaders to ensure a smooth and engaging festival experience.
- Manage relationships with sponsors, community partners, and vendors.
- Help develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies to maximize attendance and participation.
- Supervise volunteers and staff involved in festival preparations and operations.
- Ensure the festival runs smoothly, addressing any issues or emergencies that arise promptly.
- Conduct post-festival evaluations to gather feedback and suggest improvements for future festivals.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in event planning or coordination, preferably within the arts or entertainment sector.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the film industry and a passion for cinema is an asset!.
- Ability to work flexible hours, particularly in the lead-up to and during the festival.
