Takeovers

Zoe Gordon (@zeddy_springs) and Shayne Ehman (@shayneehman) are media artists collaborating with colleagues on broadcast television, film and contemporary media arts. The pair work together as the co-owners of Cricket Cave Sound Design and Animation, working from what the state currently calls Thunder Bay, Canada, in the Robinson-Superior treaty, territory of the Anishnaabeg and the Métis. During the Takeover Shayne used the opportunity to showcase some their wonderful animation work, while Zoe shared some of her amazing sound recordings.

Zoe Gordon is an artist, field recordist and sound designer. Her work focuses on listening, relationships and co-building creative space for change. Some of the films she’s helped with have premiered at Sundance, Hot Docs and Imaginative.

Shayne Ehman is a director, artist, animator and musician. His artwork explores themes of empathy and consciousness, visualization for healing, and deep spark semantics. Shayne is co- director of the animated feature film Asphalt Watches which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2013 where it received a Fipresci Prize for Best First Canadian Feature Film.
