Workshop 1: Basics in Claymation

Date: November 30th
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: Digital Creator North Bay (Lower level of The Capitol Centre)
Fee: $10 materials cost

Dive into the world of stop motion with this introductory claymation workshop! Learn essential animation techniques like timing and performance to bring your characters to life. Create your own clay figure, master the art of movement (starting with a simple wave), and explore how to enhance your scenes with green screen technology. Together, we’ll edit your animations to place your characters in dynamic and imaginative settings.

Workshop 2: Puppet Making 101

Bring your artistic visions to life by designing and creating your own animation-ready puppet! In this workshop, you’ll start with a custom design and transform it into a durable stop-motion figure. Learn to construct an aluminum wire armature and refine your creation with sculpted details, expressive features, and custom styling.

What to expect:

  • Design and build your own stop motion puppet from start to finish.
  • Learn techniques for crafting durable, poseable armatures.
  • Add expressive details like facial features, clothing, and accessories.
